Andrew Deeley, of England, with his 34-pound common carp that was the biggest taken in the Northeast Regionals carp fishing tournament in Baldwinsville that ended today.
Deeley, who fished with his brother James, is all smiles for two reasons. One, the fish earned him $1,000. Two, he caught it 15 minutes before the tournament ended. The Deeleys were fishing on the Seneca River a short distance away from the Wegmans Good Dog Park.
The biggest fish caught by a local in the tourney was a 30 lb., 8 oz lunker landed by Eric Ames of Constantia.
