For our 20th wedding anniversary, my wife
and I decided to take a weekend trip to Baldwinsville.
We didn't have to travel far, as we have lived
in Baldwinsville for 18 years. You
might think that isn't much of a trip, but we
approached it differently — not with the same
routine we undertake on a daily basis, but from
the perspective of a visitor.
We reserved the McHarrie Suite in The Red Mill
Inn, which overlooks the Seneca River. What
a gem the inn is — beautiful in its appearance
and style, and welcoming in the hospitality of
its staff. A special thanks to Becky, Cindi and
Pam for a memorable stay.
My wife and I took a walk around our quaint
river and canal-side village. We went on a date
to a local restaurant — walking distance from
the inn — and then to a local movie theater.
We couldn't have been more stress free if we
were in Cape Cod or the Caribbean. We saw our
village as a relaxing place to visit and live — with
many of the amenities of places better known.
We hope others will support our local businesses
and see Baldwinsville as we do — our home away
from home.
